you never felt the buds

dreams fallen
like leaves in an autumn eve
my nakedness silhouetting the sky .

there was no one on my left
nor on the right

in a world of demands and accusations
accusations and demands
i forgot to leaf again like a birch in a winter

i turned back, saw none
no crowd to jeer at me
nor to test my prowess
left alone on the mountain, all alone.

in the morning sky
my prayers & pain silvered down
the hill…

and you never felt the buds coming out …..
as force never break open a seed’s shell into green
